20 Years of Sherwood Dental Practice

Sherwood Dental Practice was established in 2003 By Dr Ali. Originally starting out with 2000 patients ;It has slowly grown over twenty years into one of the largest dental practices in Birmingham ;servicing the needs of over 50,000 patients.

The practice originally started with five team members , three of whom still work at the practice. The practice now employs a team of over thirty staff . This includes twelve dentists with different specialisms including Invisalign , composite bonding, digital cosmetic smile makeovers , endodontics , Implants , veneers, tooth whitening as well as providing other general dental services.

The remaining twenty support staff are made up of managers , treatment co coordinators, therapists , hygienists receptionists, and dental surgery support staff.

The surgeries boast some of the best technical equipment available in the dental market and is the only practice in Europe to have twelve iTero digital scanners on one site as well as a and a CBCT scanner.

The practice holds one of the largest NHS contracts in the city and is also a leading Invisalign practice in Europe having twice been awarded Apex status by Align Technology. This is awarded to the top 1% of Invisalign practices in Europe, Middle East, and Africa ( EMEA) . It features in the top ten practices in country submitting digital work using iTero scanners and is one of the largest providers of private cosmetic dental treatments in the city.

The practice has previously been awarded by FMC magazine as; the best practice in the midlands, the best team ,the best young dentist (twice) and has also the award for outstanding UK achievement. The practice has been recognised as safe face accredited for Botox and fillers as well as being recognised as a “BDA Good Practice “ by the British Dental association.

The practice has been involved in teaching and foundation training with the west midlands deanery and has trained several new dentists starting out in their careers many of whom have gone on to have very successful careers. The practice has featured in the Irish post , The Daily Mail , The Guardian , The Independent , The Solihull Observer, The Sikh Times , The Edd Doolan Radio Show, and the BBC News.

The practice was one of first practices to open its door having sourced PPE during the Covid pandemic and donated protective equipment to local schools in Birmingham and solihull. It is also involved with sponsoring local clubs including Manning’s Boxing Gym , Silhillians Rugby Club, Knowle and Dorridge Cricket Club and has previously sponsored John Mitchells ladies Gaelic football club.

I had a great experience over multiple appointments at Sherwood with Zain and Simran. I had to have multiple fillings put in as well as a tooth extracted due to an infection. I was shown the before and after pictures of my teeth once the fillings were completed and am very happy with the results. They were very knowledgeable, constantly keeping me informed of what was going on and the next steps as well as reassured throughout the whole process. Thanks

I am so grateful for the simply outstanding skill and care Dr Singh showed to my son today. My son attended needing to have a tooth extracted in preparation for a brace. My son was incredibly nervous, anxious and frightened about the pain and yet through the patience and extraordinary communication skills of Dr Singh, the process was able to be successfully completed when at times I thought it would be impossible. Dr Singh showed deep empathy and care to my son, that was humbling to see. He gained my son's trust that was proved worthy and that enabled my son to go ahead with it with Dr Singh talking him through and helping him with his fears and anxiety throughout the whole consultation. This is outstanding patient care at its very best. Dr Singh is a wonderful man and dentist and an incredible asset to the Sherwood Dental practice team.

Both Dr Farah and Dr Ali did an amazing job with my teeth and really focused on all the little details on making my smile perfect! I have been a patient of the Sherwood Dental Practice for years and they have always been excellent. Recently, I had my 6 monthly check up and unfortunately it was apparent that I needed a couple of fillings. The dentist who did these was brilliant. He explained what he was doing very effectively and he has done a great job. If you are looking for a new dental practice to join then I would highly recommend Sherwood Dental Practice.

I have came to the end of my Invisalign treatment and must say it’s the best decision I have ever made. Everything was so smooth and stress free from the initial consultation,. I felt welcomed and appreciated as a patient. All staff are polite and genuine. The detail and care that’s gone into my treatment from start to finish has made this whole journey feel so much more wholesome. Sherwood is amazing!!!

I’ve been going to Sherwood dental practice for years and always have amazing treatment from the staff. Farah helped me with my Invisalign journey and Dr Ali with his composite. Both are amazing at what they do! They put you at ease, make you feel relaxed and give you a 10/10 experience. The team are friendly and always have your best interest! I recently had an amazing experience at my Sherwood dentist and I am pleased to share the glowing review of the service I received. From the front desk receptionist to the dental hygienist, and especially the dentist himself, MR S ALI, everyone was extremely kind, welcoming, and professional. They made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. The dentist came in for my examination, and he was just as excellent as the rest of the staff. He took his time examining me, provided clear explanations on certain dental procedures I needed, and made sure all my questions were thoroughly answered. In the end, I felt confident that I was receiving the best possible care. The level of service displayed was truly remarkable, and it's no surprise why this dentist has such a fantastic reputation. I highly recommend this dentist to anyone looking for quality dental care, and I look forward to my next visit!

Superlative! Words cannot convey my experience at Sherwood Dental Practice! The staff are incredibly friendly and as an individual with a phobia of the dentist, I can tell you that Sherwood is the only practice I've felt comfortable at. I was seen by Dr. S. Ali and he kept me in high spirits throughout my visit, which in turn, kept my focus away from the needle entering my mouth. Thank You for your patience and service!
